Our children are very enthusiastic about history and at Tree Tops we encourage everyone to be critical and creative thinkers, to use stories, solve clues and offer explanations for changes over time.

Using the National Curriculum programme of Study, the children are taught to become aware that their life is different to others who lived in the past and how these generations behaved and why.

Links to bring the past to life are made through the use of an exciting  range of resources such as artefacts, pictures, computer programmes, books and interactions with adults within and beyond the school. The children use a range of skills to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding including writing, IT, art and drama.

Using the local community resources such as Maidstone museum, galleries and opportunities from meeting members of the local community enhance learning and enjoyment of history in a really accessible way.
