Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very grateful to you all for the amazing work that you have done to help your children with their learning at home during lockdown. We have seen some fantastic examples of work and we have been very pleased with the number of children who have accessed their online classroom and/or completed their workpacks. A huge ‘thank you’ from all of the staff at Tree Tops Primary Academy.

Following the Government’s recent announcement, I am delighted to tell you that we are now busy planning and preparing for the re-opening of Tree Tops for all year groups on Monday 8th March 2021.

This letter will detail how we plan to open so that pupils and staff remain as safe as possible.  Of course, all of these plans are still subject to change following any new announcements made by the Government.

Quick Reading Summary of this letter:

  1. Attendance from 8th March is compulsory for all children in all year groups.
  2. Children will wear uniform.
  3. There will be slightly different start and end times for each year group and specific gates to use. These will be the same as before Christmas.
  4. Children are back on Monday 8th March

The re-opening of the whole school has been planned very carefully. Extensive risk assessments have been carried out. Procedures will be as safe and sustainable as possible. Enhanced hygiene and sanitation measures will be maintained.

Attendance will be compulsory.

Pupils and staff are being organised into the 4 bubbles again to prevent cross contamination and, the same as before, these 4 bubbles will remain separate as much as we possibly can. We will continue to promote social distancing wherever possible. Children will be with the same small group of adults all day, including lunchtime and break times. The full curriculum will be planned for and followed. Outdoor learning will be encouraged as much as possible

Uniform –  Children will need to wear school uniform please.

All children need to bring a filled water bottle into school every day.

Lunches – Children will have lunch within their bubble with the same children and adults. A full school meal service will be back in place for all pupils.

Early Birds (breakfast club) and Night Owls (after school club) will be open and set up to promote and encourage social distancing as much as possible.

If a pupil becomes ill

If any child presents with symptoms of Covid-19, they will be taken to the medical room and supervised.  Parents will be called immediately to come and collect their child.  Your child will not be allowed back into school until they have been tested and given a negative outcome or have self-isolated for the required period following a positive outcome.

We appreciate that this situation continues to be a really worrying time for parents, but hope that this letter has reassured you that we have carefully planned the opening to ensure that pupils and staff will be as safe as they possibly can be.  Returning to school is important for children to see their friends and get back to established learning routines. I am sure you will agree!

Pupil attendance is compulsory.

This continues to be a strange time for all of us. We are very grateful for your support in following all of our routines. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or queries. We are always happy to help.

Looking forward to welcoming everyone back on 8th March!

Kind Regards,
