Physical Education

Back to Subject specific curriculum statements

At Tree Tops Primary Academy, we deliver an inclusive physical education curriculum that inspires pupils to live healthy and active lives. Pupils develop skills and knowledge of sports and activities that enable them to thrive and develop both physically and mentally. We encourage pupils to explore different sports and activities and embed values such as respect, fairness and teamwork. Pupils are able to immerse themselves in our clubs and sporting events and competitions, creating a love of physical activity that we hope will continue throughout their lives.

The National Curriculum for Physical Education aims to ensure that all pupils:

  • Learning is adapted and tailored to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, through adaptive teaching; including guidance from the EEF (Education Endowment foundation). Educators incorporate explicit instruction, cognitive and metacognitive strategies, scaffolding, flexible grouping and use of technology into daily classroom practice to ensure access for all.
