Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School selected to provide high-quality professional development to teachers and leaders
Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School, a proud member of Leigh Academies Trust, is delighted to announce that it has been invited by the Department for Education to lead one of its new Teaching School Hubs.
Teaching School Hubs will be school-led centres of excellence for teacher and leadership training and development. The DfE vision for these centres is that they will ‘provide high quality professional development to teachers at all stages of their career. They will play a significant role in delivering the Early Career Framework and seek to be involved in the delivery of new Specialist National Professional Qualifications and Leadership NPQs. They will deliver school-based Initial Teacher Training and will promote and deliver other high-quality evidence-based professional development to school leaders and teachers.’
As the lead school for the Kent and Medway Maths Hub and with ten years’ experience in leading the highly successful Medway Teaching School Alliance, Sir Joseph Williamson’s is best placed to work with partners across the region to serve the needs of teachers and leaders. Together we will serve a common goal in ensuring that the children of the Medway, Gravesham and Dartford areas, as well as the children served by all the schools in Leigh Academies Trust, receive education from the very best staff with access to world class training and development.
